Ted Hearne: In Your Mouth

Ted Hearne’s "In Your Mouth" was commissioned by Liquid Music, Walker Art Center and Carnegie Hall and premiered November 21 & 22, 2019 at Walker Art Center. The immersive 12-song suite incorporated words by poet Dorothea Lasky, live stage direction by Daniel Fish, and real-time installations by Rachel Perry, featuring collaborators/musicians Ashley Bathgate, Ron Wiltrout, Nathan Koci, Taylor Levine, and Diana Wade. Liquid Music: Ashwini Ramaswamy: Let the Crows Come

Ashwini Ramaswamy's "Let the Crows Come" was commissioned by Liquid Music and made its world premiere November 8 & 9, 2019 at The Lab Theater. Evoking mythography and ancestry, this work was created in collaboration with dancer/choreographers Alanna Morris-Van Tassel and Berit Ahlgren, and composers/musicians Jace Clayton, Brent Arnold, Prema Ramamurthy, Rohan Krishnamurthy, Roopa Mahadevan and Arun Ramamurthy.

Jennifer Koh: Limitless

On January 9, 2019, Jennifer Koh, Vijay Iyer, and Tyshawn Sorey performed works from Koh’s original series “Limitless” at Amsterdam Bar & Hall in Saint Paul. The performance infused the hall with a softly intense energy—relive the experience in this video.

Highlights from the October 21, 2017 world premiere of guitarist/composer/electronic music artist Rafiq Bhatia’s virtuosic and emotionally intense "Breaking English", co-commissioned by Liquid Music and Walker Art Center. Bhatia’s work for electroacoustic ensemble (Bhatia, Ian Chang, Jackson Hill, Nina Moffitt) mixed contemporary sound art with high-energy improvisation, and was transformed into an immersive multimedia experience by Minneapolis-based visual artist Michael Cina and video artist Hal Lovemelt.

Saul Williams and Mivos Quartet: No One Ever Does

On April 26, 2016 at the James J. Hill Reference Library in St. Paul, Minnesota, Saul Williams and Mivos Quartet presented a program entitled No One Ever Does which included the Minnesota premiere of NGH WHT, a collaboration between Williams and composer Thomas Kessler, as well as world premieres by composers Ted Hearne and Jace Clayton, and Moonblood by Mario Dias de Leon. The performance was presented by The St Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music Series and in partnership with the Givens Foundation for African American Literature.
